Obama website on NAFTA

This is from the Obama transition website.
This website even has the term ''change'' in it. Notice that although Obama talks of working with the leaders of Mexico and Canada the change is supposed to be so that NAFTA works for American workers! This is the typical patriotic rhetoric that abounds in Obama speeches and is actually rather isolationist. Mexico and Canada are hardly going to agree with changes in NAFTA that do not further their own interests. I was a bit surprised to find this entry on the website since I thought that Obama's talk of re-opening NAFTA was just talk. I still doubt that anything will happen. In my opinion re-opening NAFTA would be a good idea but perhaps better when someone other than Harper is at the helm.

Amend the North American Free Trade Agreement: Obama and Biden believe that NAFTA and its potential were oversold to the American people. They will work with the leaders of Canada and Mexico to fix NAFTA so that it works for American workers.
