Sabre rattling and oil prices
There is one aspect of the sabre rattling of Iran and the threats of Israel and the U.S. to attack Iran that has gone completely unreported. Both the crony capitalists associated with oil and the Bush administration profit from higher oil as do Iran and the Revolutionary guards. The more sabre rattling the higher the oil prices go. This benefits both groups hence it is in both their interests to keep the tensions high enough to drive up oil prices. This may be a totally unintended effect of the conflict but then again it may not be. No one ever considers even the possibility that it may in part be intended.
