Iacobucci Inquiry: New Public Hearing

This will be an important hearing. Anyone with spare time in the Ottawa area would find it interesting. We will see how much of the inquiry will be public and what access lawyers will have to evidence.

Media advisory - Public Hearing on Procedure - Internal Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in Relation to Abdullah Almalki, Ahmad Abou-Elmaati and Muayyed Nureddin
OTTAWA, April 12 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Frank Iacobucci,
Commissioner of the Internal Inquiry into the Actions of Canadian Officials in
Relation to Abdullah Almalki, Ahmad Abou-Elmaati and Muayyed Nureddin, will be
holding a public hearing from 9:00a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at the
Bytown Lounge, 111 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, Ontario to receive submissions from
those granted an opportunity to participate in the Inquiry concerning the
procedures and methods to be followed in the conduct of the Inquiry.
Please note that the hearing will begin at 9:00 a.m. ET, rather than
10:00 a.m. as previously advised.
The list of participants has been posted on the Inquiry's Web site,
www.iacobucciInquiry.ca, under "Hearings". The Commissioner's directive
allocating time to participants for oral submissions will also be posted.
